Two armed men who shut down Coronation Drive earlier today have been taken into custody after four hours of negotiation with special police negotiators. The men who originally wanted a helicopter and safe custody out of the country were eventually talked down to a packet of Tim Tams and coffee.

Once the men had agreed to getting Tim Tams in exchange for giving up their weapons it seemed like the nightmare would be over however confusion over flavour left police stumped for hours. One of the men wanted Red Velvet flavour but the other wanted Coconut Lychee. It is the latter of the two flavours that left police investigators stumped. Coles and Woolworths both gave official statements saying the product was sold out and only after an extensive twitter campaign and support from the mayor were they able to find a packet.

Ruth Day, a local grandmother remembered buying a packet for her kids back in 2015. Fortunately they never ended up visiting so she had just the packet for when the police came knocking. “Oh it’s terrible about those men and their guns. But I just hope my grand-kids see this and remember to visit.”

Police gave a statement asking stores to bring back Coconut Lychee as a flavour to make sure that this never happens again.
