Internet extremists plan violent attacks in California: How 90 Kilograms could destroy the Golden Gate Bridge.
Trebuchet Me Mes, a subculture on the site known as “reddit” have long been known for glorifying violence. Originating in late 2016 the group originally a peaceful place has only grown more violent and fanatical about their “favourite” medieval siege weapon. While it may seem all fun and games the siege weapon is a terrifying device capable of launching 100 KG stones over 350 meters. The destruction potential is awful when you consider how these projectiles could de-stabilise buildings.
Professor Whitworth from the Institution of Mechanical Engineers said while the technology was obsolete it is still a very real and present threat. “Potentially with the right device and trigger point you could bring down the Golden Gate Bridge.” He went on to remark that if anyone was to attempt it you would need a fair amount of time and resources but remarked that explosives could also be used. The potential danger however, is there.
Chief of police Andrew White from Hazen Texas said many terrorists groups in places like Texas where access to guns is scarce turn to unconventional means. “It’s not unusual to see people around here resort to old fashioned weapons like sticks, swords, siege weapons, and even politics.”

Originally seen as harmless banter the cult like repeating of key phrases first caught our intention. A key phrase, launching a 90kg projectile launched over 300 meters is the first indication. Notice projectile is used, not stone or rock. The sinister implication is that explosives or worse could be used. 300 Meters is the approximate range they will be targeting. What’s worse is the suspiciously highly up voted post about being 14 alongside posts about doubling numbers. All this leads our analysts to believe that 14 trebuchets have been built and there will be a two pronged attack from both the north and the south sides of the bridge.
On the south side looking at the ranges and ideal locations it would seem the plan is to line up 7 of the 14 trebuchets’ on Battery E Trail where as on the north side they are to be lined up on the peak of Lime point. We know they will be attacking the bridge due to joining a secret discord server where they discussed first targets indicating both Wendy’s and the bridge may be under attack. It’s possible after the attack on the bridge they will turn their attention to Wendy’s Tailoring, California.
We do not know the time and the day of this attack but we will be ready and vigilant. If you see suspicious trucks unloading trebuchets near the Golden Gate Bridge do not hesitate to contact emergency services immediately. This shocking story has been brought to you by our top investigators.
